TOEICパート3の概要
問題と形式
TOEICパート3は、
- 問題：39問（会話が13コ、各会話につき設問が3つ）
- 形式：2人または3人の会話が放送され、4つの選択肢の中から最も適当なものを選ぶ問題
です。
TOEIC パート3の頻出トピック
TOEICパート3の会話は仕事にまつわるもので、頻出トピックは具体的には以下のようなものです。対面で話している場合と、電話で話している場合があります。
- オフィス・仕事場での会話
- 会社の待遇（給与や休暇など）
- 医者の予約
- 店員との会話
- 出張・訪問（交通機関、価格、スケジュール変更など）
- オフィスでの日常会話・世間話
純粋な日常会話、例えば流行のファッションやテレビ番組などの話題は出題されません。
TOEIC パート3の会話の流れ：典型的パターン
パート3の会話の流れは、以下のように、どれも同じ構造をしています。
- 短い挨拶の後、会話のメイントピック（問題・要求・提案）について簡単に言う
- 1に対する詳細な情報（具体的問題や解決策）をやりとりする
- 会話が終わった後に、どうするかを言う（暗示する）

女性：Hi, I dropped my car off this morning. Have you checked my tires yet?（会話のメイントピック）
男性：Yes. Our mechanic checked the tires on your car. Unfortunately, the front tires do need to be replaced. The mechanic noticed that they’re wearing out.（この後詳細なやりとり）
女性：Oh, I didn’t realize they were that worn out. Can I still get my car back this afternoon?
男性：I’m sorry, we won’t have the tires available until tomorrow.
女性：But, I have a client meeting tomorrow, and I have no way to get there.
男性：Oh, we can offer you a loaner car. You can use it until your car is ready.（会話の後にどうするか）

パート3では、各会話につき設問が3つ出題されます。

1問目：メイントピック・人物・場所
第一問目は、
- 会話の目的・理由、メイントピック
- 会話の人物の職業・所属部署・業界
- 会話が行われている場所
についての質問です。会話の一番最初に話されます。
典型的な設問は、以下になります。

- What is the main purpose of the conversation?（会話の目的）
- What is the conversation is about?（会話の目的）
- What are the speakers talking about?（会話の目的）
- What are the speakers discussing？（会話の目的）
- Why is the speaker calling?（会話の理由）
- Who are the speakers talking about?（会話のトピックになっている人物）
会話の人物の職業・所属部署・業界
- Where do the speakers likely work?（人物の職業）
- In what area/field/department do the speakers work?（人物の業界、職業、部署）
- Who most likely is the man/woman?（人物の職業）
- What most likely is the man/woman’s occupation?（人物の職業）

- Where is the conversation taking place?（会話の場所）
- Where most likely are the speakers?（会話の場所）
2問目
第二問目は、会話の内容についての質問です。会話の内容によって変わりますが、以下のような設問です。
- What does the man/woman’s problem?
- What does the man/woman say about…?
- According to the man/woman, what will…?
3問目
第三問目は、会話の後の行動、または起こることについての質問です。会話の一番最後に話されます。
会話の中で直接的に話されていないことを、会話の内容に基づいて推測して答えなければならない場合もあります。
- What will the man/woman probably do/go next?（次に何をするか）
- What does the man asks the woman do?（何を頼んでいるか）
- What does the man/woman offer to do?（何をしてくれると言っているのか）
- Who will the man/woman most likely talk to?（次に誰と話すのか）
- Why should the man/woman contact…?（なぜ連絡するのか）
TOEIC パート3の解き方
パート3の会話の流れと設問パターンは、毎回ほぼ同じ構造をしています。2問目は内容に関することなので会話によって設問が変わりますが、1問目と3問目はキーとなる決まり文句に気を付けて聞き取ることで、解答することができます。
